Fog is tricky. At least for me.

First really cold days here in Warsaw. Result = the best, the most magical fog over the ponds I've seen this year.

I've been trying to shoot it for two hours this morning. I've taken almost two hundred shots.

Still, when I look at them I can't  find the stillness and this mysterious, almost mystical feeling I had while walking with my camera, my hands freezing, my shoes soaking wet, looking for the best shot, cropping, light, trying not to slip on the leaves lying on the path. Observing seagulls fighting over a dead fish and a piece of bread. Watching the mist going slowly up and evanescing, fading away, hiding behind the old pine. Tracing a ghost-like silhouette of a runner flitting between the trees, seeing the bike moving somwhere on the other side of the park. This all seem like a neverland...- bleak, cold, minimalistic, but still neverland.  

So I come home; sun peeking timidly through my window, mist slowly disapperaing. I'm looking at my photos trying to find in them all the magic, all the illusion I saw today. Sometimes I find a photo I like, sometimes I regret not shooting a different version or cropping in a different way. And then I see how much I still need to learn, my shots being mostly far from "acceptable"...

But tommorow will be another day, and probably another misty morning...
